So a wide tank is of foremost priority. The floor of the cage should be covered or lined with paper towel or any good substrate like smooth stones.

The substrate should be something soft, which can be burrowed as pacman frog burrow and live inside the holes for along part of the day. This is the process for their breathing as well as hydration. The substrate could be moss or some leaves. The moisture level of the substrate should be maintained so you should sprinkle water on that substrate daily.

Heat requirement

The temperature of the pacman frog’s shelter should be within 75 to 85 degree Fahrenheit. Heat light is necessary when are living in a very cold region. It should be used to make the terrarium temperature adjustable for the pacman frog. Some frog owners also prefer to use heater under the substrate as it makes the bottom of the cage heated. But the proper heating gradient is also required to make the whole area warm.

A big bowl of fresh and clean water is needed to be kept at the tank of the pacman frog. Also the bowl will not be very deep so the frog does not keep its head up. A moderate sized and shallow bowl will be just perfect, but you should get the bowl by measuring the frog’s size.

Food and timing

Feeding the pacman frog is not difficult; they can eat the easily available insects like the roaches and crickets. But some of them are much picky eater and may not eat when you are offering them same variant of insects every day. So sometimes you can offer them mealworms and wax worms that are available from the pet stores.

A grown up pacman frog can eat pinky mice, so you can try to change their diet once it has become 6 months old, which is the age of maturity of the pacman frog. Some owner says that they have even fed guppies and other small fishes to the pacman frogs. The food should be once in two days to the mature frogs, but the little frogs need to eat daily.
