There are various ways which will help us to understand the fact when the rabbits will feel scared and you need to know those signs properly so that you can help your rabbit properly and in a better way and some of those ways can tell us that your rabbit is scared are listed as below:-

1. Ears are alert

When the rabbits will fear something you will notice some kind of movement in their ears either they will raise it or move it in some direction but you will notice that they are having ears that are alert and this is usually when the rabbit is scared or when they are not aware of some kind of noise. This is a clear indication of their fear in them. You will notice that the rabbit usually alert their ears in such kinds of situations where they sense something is not right for them and it is a clear indication of fear in them.

2. Rabbits will thump

The rabbits make the thumping sound and this is one of the loudest sounds that they can make also it is an indication for you that your rabbit is feeling scared of something or someone and they are sensing danger around them.

3. Body posture is alert

The rabbit will have alert body posture and also one of the common signs that will tell us that the rabbit is scared or they are sensing some kind of danger around them. They will look around them and in every direction and this is a clear way to the fact that the rabbit is scared and you can easily notice this in your rabbit.

4. Hides suddenly

When rabbits sense that something is wrong or they are scared of something then they will run away fast and will hide somewhere. This is their natural behavior whenever they are scared of something or someone they will run and hide somewhere safe and this is another indication that will tell you that the rabbit is not feeling safe and they are very scared.

5. Freeze in a place

The scared rabbits will freeze in one place because of fear and because of this reason they will not be able to move from one position. The rabbits will freeze in one place and because of fear they will not be able to think anything the only thing that they will be doing is being stuck in one place and you can easily tell that they are scared of something or someone or they are sensing some kind of danger around them.

6. Becomes aggressive

The rabbits will start to bite, chew, run here and there, and will have no control over themselves because of this reason you will notice that the rabbit is becoming too aggressive in nature and the reason is that they are quite scared and they do not know how to handle the situation and this is how they are behaving.

7. Eating habits changed

Due to the fear, the rabbits will either overeat or undereat and because of this reason you will notice that they are scared of something and this has led to stress in them because of which their eating habits have been changed and they are either eating a lot or they are not at all eating or eating very less. You need to notice such things in your rabbit properly so that they do not face any kind of problem in the long run.

8. Flattens on ground

The rabbits often flatten themselves on the ground when they are scared and they do not know what to do, so in such cases, the rabbits flatten themselves on the ground and this is a way in which they show their fear and also try to ignore it so you need to notice this fact when the rabbit is flattened on the ground they are scared of something that is around them or approaching them.

These are some of the signs that are there and that tell us that the rabbit is not feeling safe and they are scared of something. It is very important for you to understand these signs so that you know how you can help your rabbit in such situations when they are not comfortable in their environment and they want someone that can help them and also that can make them feel safe in their surroundings.

You need to make sure that your rabbit does not face any kind of problem when they are in captivity because only then they can live over there happy and peaceful.

What to do when your rabbit is scared?

When your rabbit is scared the first thing you need to do is to know the reason why they are sacred and why they are not living happy and peaceful. Once you know the reason you can easily help them out and some of the ways in which you can help your rabbit when they are scared are listed below:-

  1. You need to make them feel comfortable and also make them believe that they have nothing to get scared of and you are always there for them.
  2. You also need to make sure of the fact that the rabbits do not feel lonely or stressed and for that you need to give them your attention as this will help them to lose most of the fear and also they will not be scared anymore.
  3. Make sure that you provide them with a habitat that is safe for them and also that does not cause any kind of problem for them and also a comfortable one so that they do not face any problems inside.
  4. You need to make the outer environment also safe and secure for them for their well being and once that is attained you will not face any kind of problem and will not notice much fear in your little rabbit.

These are some of the ways in which you can keep your rabbit safe and also help them when they feel scared because rabbits need to feel safe when they are living inside captivity and also they should not fear anything or anyone when they have owners who can understand them and also take care of them without any kind of carelessness.
