The leopard gecko is a nocturnal and a ground-dwelling animal that belongs to the reptile specie. This reptile is the most commonly petted animal and has an average life span of 15 years.

Reasons why the Leopard Gecko tank is cold?
There could be many reasons behind the low temperature inside the tank of the leopard gecko. Some of the reasons are listed below:-
The temperature of the house of the owner is too low and that is one of the major reason behind the low temperature inside the tank.
- When the tanks of the leopard gecko are very large in capacity then also there is also a chance of low temperature inside the tank of the leopard gecko due to the fact there is not an appropriate amount of heat-producing elements inside the tank.
- There is also another very important thing and that is to check the temperature of the tank at different points as the temperature is different in different parts of the tank. As we know that leopard gecko are cold-blooded animals so they need heat from outside to survive and that is a very important factor for their survival. The preferred body temperature by the leopard gecko is around 86 degree Fahrenheit and they cannot dwell at very low temperature and chances are there that they can die at a very low temperature.
They can sometimes survive for a few days without much heat but in the end, they will die. Also in cold temperature, the leopard gecko cannot digest the food properly and also cannot eliminate the unwanted stuff from their bodies. They also start becoming malnourished as they do not have the energy to eat and digest the food and also because they cannot eliminate the waste products from their body.
So be careful with the temperature inside the tank of the leopard gecko as this can cost you the life of the leopard gecko.

How to heat the tank of the leopard gecko?
There are many ways in which you can keep the tank of the leopard gecko hot and those methods or objects due to which we can keep or maintain a good temperature for the dwelling of the leopard gecko are listed below:-
Heating pad: There are heating pads that can be installed at the bottom of the tank of the leopard gecko that helps in increasing the temperature inside the tank of the leopard gecko. Always be careful by choosing the heating pad size and go for the one that can cover more than half of the floor of the tank of the leopard gecko as this heating pad plays a very important part in heating up the tank of the leopard gecko. These heating pads can easily be attached to the bottom of the leopard gecko’s tank. This is one of the most ideal sources for providing heat to the leopard gecko.
Incandescent bulb: These are the bulbs that provide heat to the tank of the leopard gecko and are one of the simplest ways to heat the tank of the leopard gecko. You can use an incandescent bulb of 40 to 60 watts as this will be perfect for providing the heat to the leopard gecko inside the tank. It is also suggested to use a red light bulb since we know that the leopard geckos are nocturnal in nature and it will not interfere in the sleeping pattern of the leopard gecko. You can place the bulb at one end of the tank so that the leopard gecko can self-regulate the temperature inside the tank.
The heat-conducting substrate: As we know that leopard gecko is cold-blooded animals so they need heat from their environment so it is our duty to provide them with the proper amount of heat. So we can provide them with the substrate that conducts heat and they can get the warmth from the ground they are walking, resting or sleeping upon.
So you can use the substrate such as pea gravel and put some softer material that can retain heat at the top and also do remember that the substrate should not be causing any problem to the leopard gecko. So be careful while you choose the substrate for your leopard gecko as it plays an important part in the environment of the leopard gecko. Also, you can use the ceramic tiles as substrate and for heating them you can use the ceramic heating bulb by installing it inside the tank of the leopard gecko.
Thermostats: You can also use thermostats inside the tank of the leopard gecko as they can sense the temperatures inside the tank and they can immediately turn off or on the heater if the temperature is not ideal inside the tank of the leopard gecko. So if you want that thing should become easy to handle inside the tank this is the best instrument to install inside the tank of the leopard gecko.
Heat Lamps: You can use heating lamps inside the tanks of the leopard gecko in order to provide them with sufficient heat. You can install UVB bulbs inside the tank that will also provide the leopard gecko with UV rays also that is also important for the leopard gecko and also the heat that is needed by the leopard geckos.
Thermometer: The tank should have a proper thermometer installed inside it so that you can measure the temperature carefully inside the tank and take some immediate actions if needed.
A thermometer installation is a must inside the tank as you can note down the readings carefully and know what is happening inside the tank of the leopard gecko and also make sure that the temperature stays in between 75 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit at any time inside the tank as this is the ideal temperature for the survival of the leopard gecko.
