And you will notice that the American Foxhound is an amazing dog and is also suits best in modern times as one of the best companion dogs. Due to their nature and strength and adapting capabilities, they are known for and that is why they still exist.

The size of the American Foxhound dog breed is different for males and females. They are great dogs and their size is 22 to 25 inches tall in the case of the male American Foxhound and in the case of the females they are around 21 to 24 inches tall. Though the weight of these hounds is not much they usually weigh in between 40 to 60 pounds also from here you will notice one thing these American Foxhounds are light breed dogs and that is why they are active enough because they are not heavy weight dogs.

They have a medium-length hair coat that needs to be brushed properly once every week and also so that you can properly remove all the dust and dirt from their body. Also, you need to look after their dental health too and need to brush them 2 to 3 times a week.

Make sure that you even maintain their nails and trim them from time to time so that their hygiene is maintained and nothing can get stuck to their nails. Do give them a bath at least once every month or when they are too dirty so that you can get rid of all the dirt and even bacteria from their body and also they can live a healthy and disease-free life inside the captivity.
