The bearded dragon is an awesome animal that belongs to the family of reptiles to be kept as a pet by the reptile enthusiast. You should know how to take care of your bearded dragon as they need lots of love and care so that they can live a happy and a healthy life inside the captivity.

As we know that the food is very important thing when it comes to the health of the living being and so is the case of the bearded dragon.

We know that we cannot feed anything and everything to the bearded dragon so we should be careful when it comes to feeding of the bearded dragon.

The answer is yes to this question, yes the bearded dragon can definitely eat pinkies. But not all bearded can feed on them. The bearded dragon at an adult age can feed on the pinkies, the younger bearded dragons should not be fed with the pinkies at it is not good for them.

But also some say that feeding a pinkie is not a good option or you can say that it is not the healthiest option to feed it to the bearded dragon. The reason being is the pinkie is full of fats because of which it is not a recommended diet for the bearded dragon.

So yes you can feed them to the bearded dragon but not as a staple diet and it should be fed to them occasionally. You should not feed the bearded dragon with pinkies on a regular basis because it can negatively impact the health of the bearded dragon as pinkies is rich in fats and proteins.

What is a pinkie?

A pinkie is a new born mice as they are tiny in size and are not much developed so they are fed to the bearded dragon because the bearded dragon can easily digest the pinkie.

But you should make sure that you do not feed it to the baby bearded dragon because it is not a good idea as feeding on pinkie can lead to impaction in the bearded dragon as the pinkie are quite large for them and the baby bearded dragons cannot feed on them easily and also it is quite tough for them to digest them.

Why is pinkie not a good diet?

The pinkies are not a good diet for the bearded dragon because eating lots of pinkies leads to many health issues in the bearded dragon like gout or obesity and the reason behind it that the pinkies are rich in proteins and fats. This is the major reason that pinkies is not a good diet for the bearded dragon and also that is why the pinkies cannot be fed on the regular basis.

As too much of feeding on the pinkies by the bearded dragon causes lots of health issues for them and also you need to be careful while you are feeding pinkies to them. Make sure that you do not overfeed pinkies to the bearded dragon. The pinkies should be fed to the bearded dragon as a treat as we know too much of pinkie is not good for them.

How often you should feed pinkies to the bearded dragon?

As we know that feeding on pinkies by the bearded dragon is not a good idea on the regular basis. So you should control their feeding frequency so that feeding on pinkies do not effect bearded dragon in any case. So it is recommended to feed the bearded dragon with pinkies only once per month.

Can Bearded Dragons Eat

As the pinkies will make them obese if the bearded dragon are fed with lots of pinkies and also in some cases they are not able to digest the pinkies if you overfeed them with it. So once in a month is the idle way of feeding the pinkie to the bearded dragon without any negative impact on their health. As too much of pinkies in the diet has a negative impact on the health of the bearded dragon.

When can bearded dragon have pinkies?

The pinkies cannot be fed to any bearded dragon that you want as not all bearded dragons can digest the pinkies easily because the pinkies are rich in fats and proteins. So it is recommended to feed the pinkies to the adult bearded dragons and that also who are healthy in nature.

You can also feed pinkies to the female bearded dragon when they are about to lay eggs or they have laid the eggs because at that time they need lots of fats and proteins in order to maintain the energy in their body. So make sure that pinkies are not meant for every type of bearded dragon as not all can have it.

It is not recommended for the bearded dragons who are young as they will not be able to digest them easily. So make sure you feed the pinkies to the bearded dragon in a controlled quantity and also in a regulated time period. The bearded dragon who is healthy can have pinkies, otherwise the other bearded dragons cannot be able to digest them and also they can get lots of health issues if they feed on pinkies.

But as we know that the bearded dragon are not so easy to care of because of their sensitive nature and that is the reason whatever you feed to the bearded dragon it should be safe and even healthy for the bearded dragon.

You need to take lots of care and give them lots of love so that the bearded dragon can live a happy, comfortable and a healthy life inside the captivity.

Make sure you spend time with the bearded dragon so that a strong bonding is built between them and also both of them understand each other properly and they do not cause any problem for each other under any circumstances.
