In this section of the article we will focus on the requirement for keeping the carpet clean. Go through it carefully and see their purpose too.

Bucket

This will be the first thing that you will need. This is to store the water. But before using it you need to be sure that it is lean and enough big so that the carpet fits in entirely.

Water

You would need either hot or cold water. It should be enough in quantity so that it fills in the bucket and is not less for rinsing purpose.

Gloves

Also to carry out the cleaning process the users will need gloves. Make sure they are disposable ones. Gloves are necessary because the bearded dragons might have some salmonella which could lead to stomach problems for you.

Also after doing the cleaning with it, clean your hands with water and soap. This is better.

Anti bacterial soap

There might be some fungus or bacteria on your carpet. To clean it the users need an antibacterial soap. This is safe for the pet as well natural.

Paper towel

Also, a paper towel would be needed for scrubbing the carpet. Using a paper one would be recommended instead of a cloth towel. This is because you can throw it after use and you would be away from the germs that can get into your towel.

Disinfectant

The disinfectant is the last requirement that you will need to clean the carpet. This will kill the germs if there are any.

Steps for cleaning the carpet:

In this will see the steps that are required to be followed to clean the carpet. These directions should be followed to clean the carpet without getting in contact with the germs.

  1. Preparing

When you are deciding to clean the carpet, you either need to keep your bearded dragon anywhere else or remove it easily. After that you need to gather the stuff that you will need. Also make sure to fill the bucket with hot water preferably.

You also need to make sure that the dustbin is somewhere near so that you can dispose the paper towels and the gloves.

  1. Cleaning with paper towels

You need to make use of paper towels to do the cleaning process. You can clean with paper towels and then easily dispose them into the trash. You cannot miss this step as this very important.

After doing this make sure you do not keep the disposed towels at your home.

  1. Use scrubber with soap

Now you need to take the carpet and dip it in the bucket which has soap water. Scrub the carpet with your fingers. Make sure you are wearing gloves. After that, keep the carpet for 15 minutes in the bucket. You can now remove it and squeeze excess water.

Place the carpet down and do the next step.

After this throw the gloves.

  1. Rinsing

Now dump the dirty water carefully. Make sure it does not spill anywhere inside your home.

Clean the bucket nicely by filling water 2-3 times. Use hot water. Do not use soap now.

Dump the water and then refill it again

  1. Rinsing with water

In the next step you will have to wash or rinse your carpet with clean water. This will remove the soap if there is any.

This can be done in two ways. One is by dropping little water onto the carpet and then rubbing it with hands. Other way is to put the carpet in bucket and rinse it with water.

  1. Disinfectant spray

Make sure you are using some reptile disinfectants, use it on both sides.  Do follow the instructions on the packaging. If it is specified to keep it for some time, then leave it as it is. Otherwise leave for some 5-10 minutes and then rinse with water. After this, let the carpet dry.

  1. Repeat this once in a week

Place the carpet back into the tank. After this your job is not done. The carpet can get dirty very easily so you need to clean it once in a week.

Conclusion

Make sure that you clean the carpet once in a week. The procedure is simple and this can help keeping the beardie healthy.
