The 8 things that the rabbits shouldn’t chew because that can be too dangerous for them and also in the worst cases it can even prove fatal for them and in order to avoid such situation you need to make sure that what things you should avoid for your rabbit so that they do not chew on it and some of those things are listed as below:-

1. Electrical cables and wires

One of the most tempting things that the rabbits find to chew and also one of the most dangerous things that are there on which the rabbits are seen chewing. The electrical wires and cables should not be present in front of the rabbits because it is very dangerous for them to chew on as they can get electrocuted. Also, the material of these wires and cables is not good to be ingested by the rabbits so that is why you should not ever let your rabbit feed on the electrical wires and the cables.

2. Metal things

The metal things are also not at all good for the rabbits to chew on because they can cause problems for the teeth of the rabbits and also they can break their teeth. If the rabbits will ingest the small pieces of rabbit it will cause blockage in their digestive system causing lots of health issues in them and because of this reason the rabbit will face lots of issues not only in their digestive system but can also affect their respiratory system too.

3. Plastic material

Anything that is made up of plastic is not at all good for the rabbits because plastic is something that is very harmful and also it does not break down easily once it is ingested by the rabbits. It has lots of chemicals in it that are very toxic for the rabbits and because of this reason the rabbits will not be able to digest the plastic things.

There will be a blockage inside the body of the rabbits and also as the plastic does not get decomposed it will create lots of issues for the rabbits and this will lead to health problems in your sweet little rabbit and that is why anything that is made up of plastic is not good for the rabbits.

4. Carpets

Some rabbits chew on carpets too and that is not at all a good practice to do so because the rabbits will face lots of issues if they will eta the carpet as the carpet is made up of synthetic material and it will cause lots of issues for them. There are lots of chemicals and toxic things used in the carpet and all these things will cause issues for the rabbits if they will try to digest the carpet. The fibers of the carpet will not be able to break down and causing a blockage in their system.

5. Treated cardboard

The cardboards that are treated with chemicals or have some kind of material used on them like plastic films or foils then it is very dangerous for the rabbits. The rabbits should not be given such cardboards because that can prove unhealthy for them and also your rabbits will face issues while they will be feeding on such things as chemically treated cardboards will make them face lots of health issues and also this will lead to the fatality when eaten in large quantity.

6. Paper

When paper is chewed in small quantities it will not cause many problems for the rabbits but if the paper is swallowed or ingested in large quantities it will cause issues for your rabbits like the rabbit will face blockages in their system. Also, the paper does not have any kind of nutritional value so it will not do any good if it is eaten by the rabbits. You need to make sure that your rabbit does not face any kind of problem when they chew on paper so it is better that they should completely avoid the paper.

7. Wood of stone fruit tree

The wood of the stone fruit trees like cherry, plums, peaches, and apricots if the rabbits by chance will chew on these woods it will prove very dangerous to them because it is poisonous for the rabbits and if the rabbits will constantly chew on these stone fruit wood then it will also be fatal for them and that is why you need to make sure that the rabbit does not come in contact of the wood of the stone fruit trees.

8. Cotton material

As we know that cotton is a natural material but it is also not so safe for the rabbits that they can chew because the fibers of the cotton are quite strong enough and because this reason it will not be able to easily break inside the stomach of the rabbits and due to this reason there will be a blockage in their digestive system and they will not be able to digest anything properly and because of this reason you need to even avoid the cotton material for the rabbit to chew on.
