The bearded dragon is an amazing animal and that is the reason many reptile enthusiasts has kept it as a pet. As we know that the bearded dragon is a sensitive animal which means that we need to take care of them at any cost.

The bearded dragon also needs lots of love and care so that they can live a happy and satisfying life. In this article, we will discuss the fact which will tell us whether the bearded dragon is feeling happy or not. Knowing about the happiness of the bearded dragon at least we will come to know that they are living happy and comfortable life inside the captivity.

How to tell if your bearded dragon is happy?

There are many ways by which we can tell that the bearded dragon is happy inside the captivity and some of the reasons have been listed as below:

If Your Bearded Dragon Is Happy

1. Comfortable when you pick them up

The bearded dragon is comfortable when you pick them up and you will notice that because when you will be picking them up, they will let you do that without creating any type of fuss. As you can make out easily when the bearded dragon does not want that anyone should pick them up, that means that they are not in a happy mood. So there are times when they do not want to be touched especially when they are breeding and shedding. So you need to understand them and let them be the way they are.

2. Do not run away

The bearded dragon will not run away when they see you and this is the clear indication that they are comfortable with you and are happy inside the captivity. But this is not a usual site that you will notice. So when you try to pick them up they will climb up to you without any sort of hesitation. You can clearly feel that they are happy and have no sort of issues when you are around them. So when the bearded dragon does not run away this means they are comfortable with you and are happy.

3. Do not show any aggression

When the bearded dragon does not show any sign of aggression, it clearly means they are fully satisfied and happy. There is no reason that they need to show their aggression and the reason is that they have everything that they need and they are comfortable inside the captivity. if they are not showing any unusual behaviour and they are not aggressive at all this clearly means that the bearded dragon is happy and do not have any sort of issue inside the captivity or with their owners.

4. Following a normal and a healthy routine

When you will notice that the bearded dragon is following the normal or the regular routine which means they are sleeping, basking eating or doing other activities as it should be done without any issue, then this means that the bearded dragon is happy and do not have any sort of issue with anything. They are living a healthy life and are enjoying it inside the captivity. You need to notice the regular activity of the bearded dragon which will tell you about their happiness and their satisfaction.

5. Will go on to your shoulder

The bearded dragon is known to be a natural climber and you will notice when you will pick them up they will try to climb up to your shoulders. This can only be done when they are happy and also comfortable with you and your touch. The bearded dragon will be happy to see you and that is why they would try to climb up to your shoulder, this is a clear indication that the bearded dragon is happy and is not having any sort of problem inside the captivity.

6. Lay on the owner for a long time

Another way of telling that the bearded dragon is happy is when you will notice that the bearded dragon is laying on your shoulder for a long time and is relaxing over there this means that they are comfortable with you and they trust you and that is why they are happy to stay with you.

The bearded dragon would love to spend their time with you if they can trust you and have a sense of security when they are around you. You need to take care of them which will eventually make them happy and they will not have any issue in staying with you. The bearded dragon will feel happy whenever they are around you and this can only be felt if you will take proper care of them.

7. Healthy and an alert bearded dragon

When the bearded dragon is healthy and alert it means that they are happy. You will notice when you will take care of the bearded dragon properly and they will not have any health issues and also they are alert which means they are fully aware what is going around them, then this is the clear indication that the bearded dragon is happy inside the captivity. It means that the healthy and the alert bearded dragon is a happy bearded dragon and this is only possible if you will take proper care of them inside the captivity as they are fully dependent on their owners.

8. Waving at the owner

The bearded dragon will start waving at you and when you will notice this unusual sight of the bearded dragon, this means that they are trying to catch your attention and also they are appreciating your presence.

This waving gesture clearly means that they are happy with you inside the captivity and the bearded dragon are not having any sort of issues. They are happy and they also wave at you in order to draw attention to something that is not good about their environment and they want you to fix it for them, so that they can live their happily and comfortably.

9. Change to brighter colours

The bearded dragon will change to brighter colours such as light brown, orange, yellow, etc. and this clearly indicates the fact that the bearded dragon is happy and they are not having any issue with the environment they are living in and also with their owners. They usually change colours when they are in good mood or you can say that when they are happy with everything around and they are living a comfortable life and are satisfied inside the captivity.

The changing of the colours usually is the way that how they react to the environment and if they change to the brighter or warmer colour it means that they are happy.

10. Closes eyes when they are around their owners

When you will notice that the bearded dragon is closing their eyes when they are around you it means that they feel safe around you and they trust you. It also means that they are happy in your presence and will not face any sort of issue when they are around you.

An animal will only close their eyes around someone only when they are at ease with them and they feel safe around them and do not have any sort of issues or problems around them. So when the bearded dragon is closing eyes around you this clearly means that they trust you and are happy staying around you.

11. Relaxed around you

Another way to tell about the happy mood of the bearded dragon is that they ae seemed to relax and enjoy when they are around you and you will notice that this is only possible if they are happy and comfortable around you and do not face any sort of issue in staying with you.

This clearly reflects the happy mood of the bearded dragon as they are relaxing and is not worried about anything, there is nothing around that will stress them and also they are enjoy their time with you. You can notice by looking at them that they look relaxed and stress- free which means they are happy and do not have any issue.

These are some of the ways of telling that the bearded dragon is happy and they are living a satisfied and the comfortable life inside the captivity with their owners. They will be stress-free and also healthy without facing any sort of issues and will show the signs of happiness to their owners in various ways.

The bearded dragon is an awesome pet and you will enjoy to stay with them and that is only possible if you will take care of them and make sure that they get everything that they need so that they can live a happy and a comfortable life.

When the bearded dragon will start showing certain signs of happiness then you will know that they are not having any issue inside the captivity and they are comfortable inside it. You should also spend time with them so that you can understand them better and also so that you both can bond up with each and this will make bearded dragon even happier.
