Why is my bearded dragon shaking?

There can be various reasons behind the shaking of the bearded dragon and being a responsible owner of the bearded dragon we should know how to overcome their shaking and prevent it. The various reasons that tell why the bearded dragon is shaking are listed as below:

1. Deficiency of calcium

The first and the foremost reason due to which the bearded dragon shakes is because of the deficiency of calcium in their body.

If the bearded dragon does not get enough calcium they will become weak and also ill and because of this their bones will not develop properly and their body will start to shake eventually as it would be too weak to handle the body of the bearded dragon.  If there is a deficiency of calcium for a long period of time their bones will get deformed and they will become too weak.

So in order to overcome this, you need to feed your bearded dragon with enough calcium so that their body does not get deformed and they do not shake because of the weakness.

The calcium deficiency can be prevented if you provide them with proper calcium supplement which will be enough for their body and it can be in the form of powder which you can dust on their food or can be given in the form of the feeder. The bearded dragon needs calcium and it is the duty of the owner to give them the proper amount of calcium so that they can live a happy and healthy life.

2. UVB lighting is not good

When the lighting inside the tank of the bearded dragon is not good then also the bearded dragon shakes and the reason is that they do not get the sufficient amount of Vitamin D which they would get from the UVB lights.

A lack of Vitamin D leads to bone deformity and this is because Vitamin D helps in processing the calcium. So without the UVB light or in the poor UVB lighting, there are chances that the bearded dragon can become sick and weak which will lead to the shaking of the bearded dragon.

So make sure whenever you are providing UVB lighting inside the tank of the bearded dragon it should be good enough and also safe for them so that there is no issue with the bearded dragon and you can also prevent their body to shake.

3. Lack of Vitamins or Excessive vitamins

Another major reason is that due to the lack of vitamins the bearded dragon will not feel healthy and they will be very uncomfortable and that is the reason their body shakes.

The vitamins supplements can be the major reason due to which the bearded dragon will have the shaking body problem. Even if there is too much vitamins intake then also the bearded dragon’s body starts to shake so you need to be very careful with the amount of vitamin that you provide to the bearded dragon so that your bearded dragon lives a happy and safe life.

The bearded dragon should be given the vitamin supplement only after consulting the vet so that they can tell you how much vitamins should be provided to them so that there are no complications and also that they do not have any sort of shaking problem in their body.

4. Not eating greens

When the bearded dragon is not eating its greens properly or is refusing to eat green then also there is a deficiency of various vitamins in the body which leads to various problems like that of shaking.

So it is recommended that the bearded dragon should have greens especially the adult ones.

The bearded dragons should be able to have a proper intake of greens so that there is no issue with their body and you can even prevent the shaking problem in the body of the bearded dragon. So it is the duty of the owner to focus on the diet of the bearded dragon.

5. Health issues

If the bearded dragon is suffering from some sort of health issues or they are having any type of disease then also you will notice that the bearded dragon has a shaking body the reason is that they are weak and also because their body is not healthy enough to make them stable.

There are various reasons behind the fact that the bearded dragon is not feeling well or they are having some type of disease, health issue, or infection.

You need to be careful with your bearded dragon and make sure that they do not get any type of issue and are living a healthy life.

Make sure about everything about the lizard because only then you will be able to prevent the shaking issue of your bearded dragon. In some cases you would also need to contact the vet if the health issues are serious and also the bearded dragon is not able to stay stable and is shaking a lot. You need to immediately seek medical help for your pet without any sort of delay in it.

These are the various reasons behind the fact that why the bearded dragon is shaking and if you will know this only then you will be able to prevent their shaking. Make sure especially if the bearded dragon is eating its food properly or not because the diet is considered one of the major reasons behind the body shaking or the otherwise shaking of the bearded dragon. You need to take care of them and also know the reasons behind the shaking of the bearded dragon.

Final thoughts:

You can maintain a healthy bearded dragon inside the captivity only when you will provide them with everything they need and also if you feed them properly and also give them a healthy diet.

The bearded dragon enjoys its life and is very happy if they are healthy and in many cases, the shaking of the bearded dragon is not a sign of a healthy bearded dragon.

You should know everything about the bearded dragon if you want them to stay healthy.

You should also spend time with your bearded dragon so that you are able to build a bonding with them and also it will help in improving the understanding between the two and you will be able to give them your best. The understanding between the owner and its pet is a very important thing and you should be aware of this fact so that you can raise a healthy bearded dragon.
