Size of the tank is small
The size of the tank in which your leopard gecko is living is small and they are feeling suffocated so that is the reason that they will try to climb up the tank, so that they can get more space to move around and also to move out of the small space.
So make sure in such conditions you need to bring a bigger tank so that they have bigger space to move around.
Leopard gecko is feeling bored
The most common reason is that the leopard gecko is feeling bored and because of that they are trying to climb the tank so that they can make themselves busy and also they have some activity to perform.
In case of boredom you need not worry about them because this is a common behaviour that you will notice in any leopard gecko. The main reason for the leopard gecko to get bored is that the environment that they are living is non- stimulating and they try to move out of it.

When the tank is not heated up properly then is the case they will try to get closer to the heat lamps. In such cases you need to maintain the proper temperatures inside the tank of the leopard gecko so that they do not have to climb the tank in order to get near to the heat lamps and they are safe.
Leopard gecko wants to get away from mites
