The bearded dragon needs lots of supplies in order to live a happy and healthy lifestyle inside the captivity and the list of supplies for the bearded dragon is as follows:

1. Housing

The housing is an essential thing for the bearded dragon because to keep a bearded dragon as a pet you need to take provide them with an enclosure that is safe and secure for them and they are comfortable inside it and have a proper space to move around and also it should resemble their natural habitat so that they can live comfortably inside it.

The enclosure or plastic enclosures are the commonly used enclosures for housing the bearded dragon because you can easily observe them from outside. It is recommended a 10 to 20 gallons tank for the young bearded dragon and with the increase in their size, it is recommended to increase the size of the tank.  As an adult, you should provide them with the 40-gallon tank size so that they can live comfortably, and also the bigger the size of the tank the better it is because they will have enough space to move around without any sort of restrictions.

2. Substrates

The substrates are important to add inside the tank so that they can live comfortably and you need to choose carefully the substrates for their enclosures. You can use paper towels, newspaper, reptile carpet, ceramic tiles, etc. that are safe for the bearded dragon. The substrate should be non-toxic, non-irritant, safe on the skin, and odorless. These types of features should be there for the substrates for healthy living.

3. Furniture

You can add up various pieces of furniture inside the enclosure of the bearded dragon so that you can give them a touch of their natural habitat. The most important thing they need is a hiding place inside their terrarium so that they can relax, rest or hide in it.

You can add a hiding box, cave, etc. for them to rest or relax. You can also add bark or branches inside the tank because they need to climb here and there and also they need to perch on the bark or branches.

Even for the basking purpose, they need platforms for that and these branches are apt for that. You can add natural or artificial plants inside their tank so that to give a touch of their natural habitat and also so that they can live a happy and comfortable life inside it.

4. Food and water

An essential supply for the bearded dragon is food and water. They need a healthy and regular supply of food and water in order to live a happy and healthy life. The bearded dragons can be fed with a variety of items in their diet. The bearded dragon should be fed vegetables on a regular basis because of the high nutrition content in it. You can feed them on veggies like mustard greens, dandelion greens, collard greens, etc. as these are the healthy choices of veggies for the bearded dragon.

These veggies should be chopped into small pieces or mashed properly so that they are easy to digest for the bearded dragon and then they should be fed to them.

Giving them insects like crickets are also recommended so that they can get a good amount of proteins and vitamins and these insects should be small in size and you can also dust the vitamin and mineral supplements on them so that you can provide them with all sorts of nutrients.

Worms can also be fed to them but not on a daily basis but as a treat, because worms have lots of fats and do not have high nutrition content so it is recommended to feed them with worms as a treat once or twice a month. Vegetables like green beans, sweet potato, squash, etc. should also be given to them occasionally because on regular basis even they do not hold much nutritive value.

Water is essential for the bearded dragon and the bearded dragon acquire most of their water from their food. But it is also necessary to provide a bowl of water inside their enclosure or have a water dripper for them, but make sure it is clean and fresh. Refill the water bowl every day even if it is not used change the water. Sometimes the bearded dragon may drink from that water bowl. Also, another reason for having the water bowl inside the captivity is that it helps in marinating the proper amount of humidity inside their enclosure so that they can love comfortably inside their captivity.

5. Heating devices

The use of heating devices is necessary in order to provide them with the proper type of temperature so that they get the right type of temperature and can live happily in such temperatures. The heating device that is used is heating pads, heaters, heat lamps, heating strips or tapes, uvb light bulb etc. that gives them with the proper amount of heat so that they do not feel cold inside the enclosure and live a happy and healthy life because temperature plays a vital role in the growth of the bearded dragon.

These are the various essential supplies that you need to provide your bearded dragon with so that they do not have any sort of problem while living inside the captivity. They should be given all sorts of care in order to give them the right type of lifestyle.
