Papaya is a very common fruit and is very nutritious. The fruit can be served as a snack.

Now, you have a bearded dragon then you might be worried if or not you can feed your pet the papaya fruit. So in this article below, we will see the various food that the bearded dragon can eat and is papaya safe food or not.

Is Papaya Good for Bearded Dragons?

We find that the papaya has a calcium and phosphorus ratio which is not certainly good for the Bearded dragon. Papaya is acidic and also contains water, protein, fat, and sugar content.

Since papaya does not have a good ratio of calcium and phosphorus it is not safe for them.

The watery foods tend to cause diarrhea in the bearded dragons, so while choosing the fruits you need to be very careful. If you wish to give papaya as a treat then it is fine, but it should not give in the form of a diet.

Similarly, tomatoes are also very acidic and should be given in small amounts to the bearded dragon.

So let us now see which foods and fruits you should feed your bearded dragon, which is safe and also healthy.

Bearded dragons can eat a wide range of insects as well as vegetables. They require variety in their diet and along with that edible options.

It includes meat, greens, fruits, and vegetables. In the wild, the bearded dragons mostly prefer to eat insects which means that 75% of their diet includes cockroaches, crickets, worms, and small creatures.

The Vegetables and fruits are for 20 to 25% of their diet.

The mealworms and the super worms should be given only to the elder bearded dragons. If baby Bearded dragons eat such food it might lead to impaction.

While feeding soft fruits to bearded dragons it is necessary that the owners pay extra attention as they can ferment and cause teeth issues. So fruits like kiwi Grapes,  Blueberries should only be fed once a month.
